Il Casello is a true farmhouse with character and charm. If you’re looking for a modern place to stay, this is not for you. Il Casello was very quiet and relaxing. The rooms were clean. The view of the hills was beautiful. Angelica and Paolo were sweetest people and very helpful.

My wife and I stayed at the Il Casello for one night during our Tuscany tour. Paolo and Angelica, the owners and hosts, offer a pleasant, quite and tranquil B&B. Paolo was there for any questions or guidance and provided us with excellent local information as to what to see and recommended us where to have a delicious dinner. Il Casello Country House is located by the Chianti roadside (about 3 km outside Panzano heading to Greve in Chianti). The place has a nice pool, a pleasant garden and a veranda where you can sit and relax, enjoy a glass of wine or simply read a book. Breakfast was very good, plentiful fresh and homemade. Beside of good coffee and the buffet breakfast, Angelica also offered and served delicious cappuccino and made to order eggs. The B&B itself is a traditional charming house. Our room was in the main building and had plenty of space and a large bathroom. The king size bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a few steps down from the bedroom. The room was spotless and full of charm and ambience. In summary, the accommodation, atmosphere, facilities and the hosts were all superb. We highly recommend Il Casello Country House B&B !

We were looking for a quiet, relaxing slow paced holiday. Il Casello completely fitted the brief. The location was a few minutes from Panzano which has great places to eat. The views from the property were exceptional- breathtaking and we never tired of looking at different times of the day. Breakfast on the terrace was perfect and you had all the time in the world. Taco the dog was a comforting reminder of home and sat happily nearby where we sat. The bedroom was truly Tuscan in decor and comfort, the air conditioning worked a treat and there wasn’t one mosquito thanks to the fitted Window nets. The pool was great, loungers and shade aplenty and the water, although not heated, warmed up more than enough to make it a pleasure to dip in to cool down. Our hosts brought cappuccinos out for breakfast without being asked and gave us China and cutlery for our market picnic feasts for eating al fresco. WiFi good everywhere around the property. Will definitely go back to use as a base again for touring the local area for a perfectly relaxing holiday.

We stayed for a week after 5 days near the Cinque Terre. The stay in Tuscany was the highlight of our trip. We stayed in one of the rooms in the main house with views out to the rolling Tuscan Hills and vineyards bringing the iconic photos of Tuscany to life. Outside is a terrace where you can have breakfast in the morning or a glass of wine in the afternoon getting lost in the views. The room we had was in the main house and was nice (with the towels folded in a swan design on the bed, just as in the photos) and the bathroom was good and the only negative was that it was down a few steps from the bedroom. The room was spotless but not modern (except for a tv and air-conditioning) but that just lends to the charm and ambience. Opening the window shutters in the morning to THAT view was a highlight. There is also a pool which we used every day. Our schedule was to tour in the morning and afternoon, return and spend time by the pool talking to the other guests and, of course, having a glass of wine. Paolo and Angelica were great with providing information about places to see in the area and places to eat a short distance away in Panzano and Greve in Chianti. After going to San Gimignano and encountering crowds and getting a bit sick of driving and crowds Paolo suggested we go to a small village on top of a hill called Volpaia. This was great, no crowds, good food and beautiful scenery. He also suggested that rather than drive to Florence we catch a bus (the bus stop was 200 metres from Il Casello). It took only an hour and was far more convenient than driving through the outskirts and narrow streets of Florence and you also get to enjoy the views of the Tuscan countryside from the bus. Sienna was about an hour drive in the other direction. There are lots of other hill towns and wineries nearby and the days can certainly be filled in this part of Tuscany. We loved our stay at Il Casello and cannot recommend it highly enough.
